I want to live in a treehouse. Well okay fine, maybe not live, but certainly vacation for the summer. Or maybe have one as a writing studio. I never had a treehouse, but there is a cherry tree in my parent’s front yard that was the inspiration for many childhood daydreams. There is something about sitting high above all the adults below that lets a child really explore her imagination. That tree was a ship called the Sea Hawk (and I especially liked standing in the crow’s nest), a stable of horses, an orphanage, and a space ship full of monkeys (okay, so I was a weird kid). If only I had a treehouse, the novels would pour out of me…I just know it…
Maybe something along the lines of these:

I really like the idea of a treehouse village. A community of like-minded tree dwellers within easy-rope-bridge-reach.

And how fabulous is this treehouse wedding?

Inside my treehouse would look something like this:

For more treehouse love, you must read the books by Peter Nelson:

Treehouses of the World, Treehouses: The Art and Craft of Living Out on a Limb , and The Treehouse Book.
